SPEED is designed for the simulation of large-scale seismic wave propagation problems including the coupled effects of a seismic fault rupture, the propagation path through Earth’s layers, localized geological features such as alluvial basins and topographic irregularities.
Taking advantage of the built-in flexibility of the underling discretization method and of the increasing computational power of parallel computer architecture, the code provides a versatile way to handle multi-scale earthquake engineering studies in a new “from-source-to-site” philosophy.
